I gave my sister a bottle of your bite and sting remedy and it has been miraculous for her. Any mosquito bites she would get in the past would itch so bad she would get sores and nothing she used would relieve the itch until she used your remedy. She is thrilled and wanted me to tell you so!

It also works better than anything else for me when I get gnat bites here in NC. My bites would itch and swell into hard bumps but not anymore thanks to your bite remedy. I have to use it 2 or 3 times but as soon as I apply it, the itching stops. You are such a blessing to us all!

Our Bug Bite Relief Origin Story!

In the Summer of 2014 I created a Bug Bite Formula and had the pharmacist make up four versions in order to test them on a group of friends, colleagues and patients. The pharmacy numbered each tube to ensure the testing was somewhat scientific.

I say a ‘somewhat’ because we didn’t ‘blind’ them with a dummy (placebo) tube, and because they weren’t ‘randomized’ i.e. I knew what was in each tube. Also the testers were mostly friends and people known to me and who, at the very least were hoping for positive results.

The trusty testers tried the gels over a long, hot buggy summer and there was a clear ‘winner’ – one that worked quicker and more effectively than all the others. We went into production and sent out a survey to 90 customers to find out what they thought about it.

29 people answered the survey and while it didn’t work for everyone – nothing does – it worked well enough (or better than well enough) for over 85% of the respondents. It was a small, encouraging sampling.

SUMMARY

• 29 customers completed the survey.
• 65.52% love it – it works every time and an additional 20.69% like it saying it works most of the time. It didn’t work at all for one person.
• On a scale of 1:10 (1 being the least and 10 being the most effective) it rated 8.96 overall.
• People had to apply it once or twice to get a healing effect –3 or 4 applications were needed depending on the person and the type of insect bite. Spiders, wasps, chiggers and sandflies needed more applications.
• Most people hadn’t thought to use it on their pets – those that had done so found it worked great on their cats, dogs and a horse!

SOME KEY COMMENTS

• I don’t leave home without it—whether my back yard or out hiking!
• Fantastic relief for mosquito bites.
• The sooner I can apply it, the less applications are needed
• I love the smell and the ease of use.
• A little goes a long way.
• I stepped on a bee and the gel took the pain away within seconds. Ditto for a couple of pesky mosquito bites as well.
• This is the best bug bite product I have found.
• 100% better than calamine.
• It is much lighter in texture and fragrance than others and the results last much longer.
• I like that it is a clean gel (very few around to call on) with an excellent formula.
• Price is small to relieve pain and tube lasts a long time.

SUGGESTIONS

• I wonder about contamination as it splooges out and then goes back into the tube? I try to use what comes out but mistakes were made.
• It is runny, which everyone in my family has commented on when they used it.
• Put it in a 30 ml size.

RESPONSES TO SUGGESTIONS!

We reformatted the gel to be less runny and put it into a 30 ml vacuum tube that works great with no contamination possible from gel getting inadvertently sucked back into the tube!
